Harley-Davidson Reports Third Quarter Earnings

MILWAUKEE - It was reported Thursday by the company that its earnings for the third quarter rose 18 percent. This was driven by an increase in retail sales. Harley-Davidson said worldwide retail sales of motorcycles grew 8.9 percent.
Net income for the third quarter totaled $312.7 million, or $1.20 per share, this is compared to $265 million or 96 cents per share from the previous third quarter a year ago.
Shares closed up $1.73 (2.74%) to $64.88 on Thursday.
